Recently, Iʻve been reminded once again of how quickly time flies…
Iʻve had the great honor of capturing many beautiful families through the years. Watching babies grow up to be young adults.
I was overjoyed and stunned at the same time when I received a Facebook message from one of my dear clients requesting that I photograph her sonʻs Senior Portraits. I thought to myself, “How could this be??? Jakey a senior already??!?!”
Youʻll hear me say the phrase “it seems like it was only yesterday” time and time again because SERIOUSLY!! IT SEEMS LIKE IT WAS IT WAS ONLY YESTERDAY that I captured this boy at six months old, then at six and then at eight years old!
And now heʻs on the cusp of becoming a young man! Are you for real??!? Alas, itʻs true…when I saw him in person, he certainly has grown since I last photographed him.
This sweet, giant of a boy had grown tremendously! Towering over me at six feet something tall, his gentle and respectful nature made me smile and feel so proud! You see, I am not just a family photographer to these families…I am blessed to become an auntie to many. And as I photographed Jakey, I felt like a proud auntie!!
I love the honor he feels as a young Polynesian man, who respects and loves his culture. He shared with me the Haka that he and his team mates did at the Polynesian Bowl! His energy was amazing!
It is an honor and a blessing for me to continue to be part of Jakeyʻs ʻOhana….
I get to witness this beautiful child pursue his dreams as he becomes a young man…ready to take on his future with so much love, respect and kindness…
Oh my gosh!! What a great journey you were honored, to have taken this gentleman’s photo from the time he was just a baby! My how time flies is right on the nose! Cuddly, cute, handsome.
